About

This site does one conversion: grams to tablespoons, and tablespoons back to grams. Not cups, not millilitres, not ounces. One question, answered properly.

Why so narrow

Most conversion sites try to cover every unit pair that exists, and end up with a thin page for each. Narrowing to a single conversion means there is room to do the parts everyone else skips: three tablespoon conventions instead of one, a measuring-method toggle, and a visible source for every density.

How it works

Each of the 24 ingredients stores one number — its density in grams per millilitre — taken from a published primary source. Everything you see is derived from that at build time, so the converter, the charts and the text on every page are computed from the same figure and cannot drift apart. The methodology page lists every source with a live link.

The converter runs entirely in your browser as plain JavaScript, with no framework. Turn JavaScript off and the conversion tables are still in the page, because they are written into the HTML when the site is built rather than drawn by a script.

What we get right that others do not

Flour is the honest example. Spooned into a cup and levelled off it weighs about 120 g; scooped straight from the bag the same cup can hold 160 g. That is a 33% difference on identical flour, and it is why conversion sites appear to contradict each other. Here it is a toggle: 20 g of flour is 2.67 tablespoons spooned, 2.00 scooped. Both are shown, and the source for each is linked.
